Poppy flour is significantly higher in fibre, protein, vitamins and minerals, while it is significantly lower in carbohydrates and calories compared to wheat flour.
High in fibre, it helps the intestinal tract to function properly when consumed with plenty of water, reduces the amount of digestible carbohydrate and, because it does not convert to glucose, is beneficial for blood sugar levels.
High-quality poppy seeds are ground into flour after cold pressing, so they can be used in the same way as other flours.
Differs from the average ground poppy seed in the following:
- only a fraction of the omega-6 and fat content
- fine flour
- nearly double the vitamin, mineral, protein and fiber content
We recommend it mainly for mixed cakes, pancakes and creams because of its distinctive flavour.
